Cleanroom Standards

6th Nov 2015

SOS Cleanroom is an industry leader in consumable cleanroom supplies. We carry everything from the gowns and gloves to cleaners, to Texwipe swabs and pre-wetted cleaning wipes, to industry specific cleaning tools and products.

The cleanroom industry facilitates many manufacturing industries now. As with any industry there are standards that must be kept. What started out as a operating room standard has expanded to many industries. These industries include pharmaceuticals, food productions, and of course the electronics and semiconductor industries. Standards for pharmaceutical and semiconductor may seem disparate but really the level of contamination allowed in both these industries is low so they have a lot on common.

When it comes to the pharmaceutical industry, the standards are set by the WHO (the World Health Organization) so that we can rest assured that no matter where in the world our medicines are being manufactured. Every little aspect of manufacturing has standards set to keep products pure. More than 100 countries have now incorporated the WHO Good Manufacturing Practices

into their national medicine law. Enforcement then comes from that country’s government.

Another standard that cleanrooms the world over conform to is the standard set out by ISO, the International Standards Organization. This is the organization that decides how many particles per million are acceptable for various industries as well as construction, design, and implementation rules for cleanrooms.

When you need the tools to keep your cleanroom up and running, and avoid shut downs of production that lead to loss of income, turn to SOS Cleanrooms for all your cleanroom supplies. We carry essential products like disinfectant wipes, industrial cleaners, gowns, gloves, sterile swabs and the list goes on and on.
