When you work in a cleanroom environment, whether it’s a lab or a manufacturing facility or a computer network center, you’ll probably to use cleanroom wipes from time to time. And lest you think these things are self-explanatory, we’d like to make sure that you don’t miss out on these simple and genius cheats that you can use your cleanroom wipes for.


The TX1009 is a 9”x9” dry wiper that is useful for a wide variety of applications, so much so that you’ll probably never find an end to the uses that you can make of them. Most of the time, people use these polyester wipes for general wiping, spill control, cleaning and polishing stainless steel, and creating a protective covering for parts and product. Their high sorbency, low particle count, and resistance to shed make them a favorite of cleanroom staff anywhere. But if you thought you knew all the uses you could make of the TX1009 cleanroom wipes, read on.

  • Decorate your workstation with an origami crane made from a cleanroom wipe. Its perfectly square dimensions make it the ideal piece of material to fold a crane (though you might have to work around the lack of ability to make sharp creases). You might not be able to bring normal photos into your cleanroom, but you should can still show off your personality and artistic side with a cleanroom wipe crane. With a little creativity it could even become your office mascot, elf who mysteriously completes projects during the night, or all-seeing yoda who watches from the top of one of your cabinets. Your cleanroom will definitely be a more fun place to work with a personality like this hanging around.
  • Pleat a cleanroom wipe and then tie a knot into the middle of it to make a hair bow or bow tie. Why should you have to work in a plain old cleanroom suit? Just because you can’t bring outside materials in doesn’t mean you can’t use materials that are allowed inside. We’ll leave it to you to find an approved method to attach your bow tie to your collar or cap. (Hint: Don’t use a piece of thread.)
  • Make your next halloween costume out of cleanroom wipes. OK, you’ll probably need more than one package of these for your costume to not be NSFW, but that’s still cheaper than some costumes you could buy.
  • As a going away present or retirement gift for a coworker, have all of your other coworkers write a message on a cleanroom wipe with a sharpie (outside the cleanroom) and then assemble the pieces together into a scrapbook or a quilt. There couldn’t be a present that speaks more of the environment you’ve worked in together than this.
