Non-Sterile Purified Water (DI / High-Purity Water)

Clean, low-ionic water for dilution, rinsing, and residue control in controlled environments.

Non-sterile purified water—typically deionized (DI) or high-purity RO/DI water—is a utility-grade essential in cleanrooms because it removes the ions and minerals found in tap water that can leave spots, films, or process-interfering residue. Cleanroom teams use DI/high-purity water to dilute cleaners and disinfectants to validated strengths, rinse surfaces after detergent or sporicidal steps, and support final wipe/rinse cycles where residue control is critical. It is also widely specified for general cleaning support in semiconductor, electronics, pharmaceutical, biotech, and laboratory-controlled areas where ionic carryover can affect yield or compliance.

Non-sterile purified water is intended for general cleanroom cleaning and process support, not aseptic product contact. For higher-grade suites or final rinses tied to regulatory limits, facilities typically step up to USP Purified Water or WFI per their SOP.
