12"W × 12"H × 6"D Cleanroom Dispenser with Rectangular Opening (BD-700-PETG)
This single-compartment, lidded cleanroom dispenser is designed for high-traffic gowning points where head/face PPE must stay protected, visible, and easy to access. The unit features a large rectangular front access opening (4" × 8") and a full-length hinged lid to support better contamination control when refilling.

The BD-700-PETG is manufactured in 1/8" clean PETG (clear PETG) and is compatible with IPA wipe-down in programs where isopropyl alcohol is routinely used on fixtures and accessories.

Why PETG matters in critical environments
SOSCleanroom sees many facilities standardize IPA as part of daily cleaning. PETG is selected when the program requires frequent IPA wipe-down because IPA can deteriorate acrylic over time (crazing/cracking), while PETG is chosen for better compatibility in harsh cleaning routines.

Best-use applications (what this dispenser is built for)
  • Bouffant caps / hair containment: keep head hair controlled at the gowning entry.
  • Beard covers: reduce particle and hair release from facial hair.
  • Hair nets / lightweight PPE: stage a single PPE type at a consistent point-of-use.

Why dispensers reduce contamination and waste
Dispensers act as a simple engineering control: they keep PPE protected from settling particles, reduce “grab-and-touch” handling, and support one-item-at-a-time behavior. This improves organization, reduces damaged/soiled PPE, and minimizes avoidable consumption—especially in high-traffic gowning zones.

The Technical Vault Controlled Dispensing for Head/Face PPE: Why It Impacts Cleanroom Performance
Use Case: Bouffant / Beard Cover / Hair Net Fixture Type: Lidded dispenser with 4" × 8" access opening Material: 1/8" clean PETG (IPA compatible)

1) People drive the contamination load—PPE is the first barrier
In most controlled environments, the operator is the dominant contamination source. Head hair, facial hair, skin flakes, and garment fibers are continuously shed. Head/face PPE (bouffants, beard covers, hair nets) is not “optional convenience”—it is a practical barrier intended to reduce this load before personnel move deeper into higher-control zones.
2) Why a dispenser is more than storage
  • Reduced handling: Open shelves encourage multiple touches (sorting, pulling, re-stuffing). Dispensers limit contact to the item being taken.
  • Protection from settling contamination: A lidded compartment helps reduce dust/particle settling on exposed PPE between refills.
  • Standardized point-of-use: When the location and “grab behavior” are consistent, gowning compliance improves and training becomes simpler.
Waste reduction is usually behavioral—dispensers help enforce it
Overuse often comes from uncertainty (people take extras “just in case”) or damage (PPE gets dropped or touched repeatedly). A dispenser improves visibility, reduces rummaging, and supports one-item-at-a-time habits—reducing avoidable consumption without adding administrative overhead.
3) Why PETG is specified for IPA-cleaning programs
This dispenser is offered in clean PETG and is described as safe with IPA. PETG is commonly selected for programs that frequently wipe fixtures with isopropyl alcohol; the published guidance notes that IPA can cause acrylic dispensers to deteriorate and crack over time, which can create both durability and cleanliness concerns.
4) Practical SOP guidance: loading, cleaning, and auditability
  • Dedicate by SKU: Keep one dispenser = one PPE type to prevent mix-ups and simplify replenishment.
  • Clean-glove loading: Refill with clean gloves to avoid transferring residue onto unused PPE. If your program requires higher assurance, designate “refill gloves” and keep them off process-contact tasks.
  • Wipe-down discipline: Wipe exterior surfaces per your facility SOP and allow dry time. Avoid over-wetting hinges and edges where fluid can pool.
  • Inspection: Periodically check hinge function, edges, and clarity. Replace dispensers that are cracked, crazed, or difficult to clean.
