Product Description
Instrument-grade HLX (Xenophot®) quartz halogen capsule for microscopy, lab/analysis, UV curing, fiber illumination, and surgical/dental overhead lighting.

Overview

The Osram / Sylvania HLX 64265 is a precision 30W, 6V quartz tungsten-halogen capsule designed for equipment that depends on repeatable optical coupling and stable illumination. Built in a compact single-ended format with a G4 bi-pin base, 64265 is commonly used in microscopy and analytical platforms, fiber illumination systems, UV curing light engines, and surgical/dental overhead systems where filament alignment and optical repeatability matter.

Key Highlights
  • Electrical: 30W, 6V (low-voltage)
  • Base: G4 bi-pin
  • Nominal Output: 765 lumens
  • Color Temperature: 3200K
  • CRI: Ra 100
  • Light Center Length (LCL): 19.5 mm (0.7678 in)
  • Average Life: 100 hours
  • Burn Position: Any
  • Lamp Type: XENOPHOT (HLX) quartz halogen, single-ended
Typical Applications
  • Microscopy illumination and optical instruments
  • Laboratory & analytical equipment
  • Fiber illumination light engines
  • UV curing platforms specifying a 6V halogen capsule architecture
  • Surgical & dental overhead lighting systems
Selection Tip (Instrument Fit)
For microscopy and fiber-coupled systems, LCL and filament geometry are critical. If your system calls for HLX 64265, qualify by 6V / 30W, G4 base, and LCL 19.5 mm to maintain optical alignment and repeatable performance.
Handling Tip
Quartz halogen capsules are sensitive to surface contamination. Avoid touching the glass with bare hands. Use clean nitrile gloves and/or a lint-free wipe to minimize residue and reduce hot-spot failure risk.
Industry Update (Branding & Supply Continuity)
Ushio is scheduled to assume the U.S. Entertainment & Industry (ENI) lamp business as the legal contracting entity effective March 1, 2026. During this transition, customers may notice changes to branding, labeling, packaging, or invoicing entity even when the underlying lamp specification remains the same. SOSCleanroom will continue to support these lamps and can help qualify continuity by part number and critical specs (voltage, wattage, base type, and key optical dimensions) to ensure you receive the correct product across branding changes.
Need help selecting the right product?
We can help verify low-voltage requirements and optical qualifiers (LCL/geometry) to prevent mis-matches in microscope and instrument platforms.
Always confirm compatibility with your equipment model, required voltage (6V), wattage (30W), base type (G4), and any specified optical dimensions (LCL 19.5 mm) prior to installation.

Lamp Science (Why HLX is Used in Microscopy & Fiber Systems)

In microscope illuminators and fiber-coupled light engines, performance is strongly influenced by how precisely the filament is positioned relative to the optical train (condenser, aperture stop, or fiber bundle). HLX/XENOPHOT lamps are designed to support repeatable filament alignment using controlled quartz pinch construction, helping keep brightness and coupling consistent after lamp changes.

Quartz halogen chemistry supports the regenerative “halogen cycle,” reducing envelope darkening and helping maintain more stable output over life compared to non-halogen incandescent sources. The specified illuminated field (1.6 × 1.6 mm²) and LCL (19.5 mm) are practical qualifiers for systems that image or focus the filament.

Safety Note (Shielding Required)
Halogen lamps may only be operated in suitable luminaires/equipment designed with protective mechanisms (shields, grids, etc.) to prevent exposure to hot parts/shards in the unlikely event of lamp bursting and to limit UV escape during operation.
