Overview

AlphaTec® 56-802 Endurosaf™ high-performance aprons use a die-cut Enduro2000™ polyurethane film (8–9 mil) designed for wet, oily, and chemical-handling workflows where splash, abrasion, and repeated wipe-downs are routine. Ansell positions this film as strong and tough, offering a performance combination intended to outperform neoprene, nitrile, vinyl, and other films in demanding use cases.

When customers specify Ansell PPE through SOSCleanroom, they are selecting a best-in-class manufacturer for process-critical work. We work closely with Ansell so customers can standardize specifications, align documentation for EHS/QA packets, and plan supply with fewer surprises.

Why this apron matters in wet/chemical workflows
  • Reliable protection where oil, grease, and chemicals are present: Ansell states these aprons help workers stay clean and protected from harmful contact.
  • Durability you can standardize: polyurethane construction is positioned as exceptionally resistant to abrasion, chemicals, oils, and fats, with strong tear/puncture resistance while remaining flexible in cold temperatures.
  • Fit control + cleanability: dielectrically sealed neck/waist straps resist tear-out and are easy to keep clean; the neck strap includes a non-corrosive, non-absorbent plastic buckle for consistent fit.

Typical tasks supported (published examples)
  • Plant disinfection and sanitization
  • Transferring liquids
  • Equipment maintenance and repair
  • Canning, bottling, storing, and transportation
  • Food processing tasks (e.g., packing fillets and ground meat)

EU GMP Annex 1 alignment notes (practical)

Annex 1 programs treat garment systems as part of the facility’s Contamination Control Strategy (CCS). This AlphaTec® apron is a chemical/soil-control outer layer—not positioned as a sterile cleanroom garment. If used in regulated areas, its use should be risk-assessed, justified, and controlled within your CCS/SOPs.

  • Define the boundary: use in support spaces or lower-grade zones unless your CCS explicitly validates use in higher-grade areas.
  • Cleaning discipline: validate wipe-down chemistry and technique to prevent residue transfer and run-off behind the apron boundary.
  • Change triggers: document replacement triggers (splash event, tears/punctures, uncontrolled contact, end-of-shift, etc.) and train to them.

Where an industrial chemical apron fits (and where it does not)

AlphaTec® 56-802 Endurosaf™ aprons are intended as a protective outer layer for wet, oily, and chemical-contact tasks. In practice, this type of apron is used to protect underlying garments, reduce operator exposure risk, and reduce cleaning burden during transfers, sanitation, and maintenance.

Boundary rule

If your process requires a validated sterile garment system (e.g., Annex 1 Grade A/B aseptic operations), an industrial apron is not a substitute. Use only where your CCS/SOPs justify and control the risk.

Specification checklist (how to buy the right apron)
  • Size selection: choose 34" x 45" vs. 34" x 50" based on splash zone (bench/vessel height, operator posture, and task geometry).
  • Film thickness: 8–9 mil is positioned for tougher service where abrasion and snag risk exist.
  • Strap design: sealed ties and an adjustable neck buckle reduce slip and tear-out risk, and simplify cleaning.
  • Chemical reality check: “chemical resistant” is not universal. Confirm compatibility for your specific chemicals, concentrations, temperatures, and exposure durations.

Donning and doffing discipline (to prevent cross-contamination)
  1. Don last: put the apron on after base garments/gloves so the outer layer remains the “dirty boundary.”
  2. Set the neck strap first: adjust for coverage without pulling the bib into the throat area.
  3. Secure waist ties flat: avoid loops that can catch valves, handles, cart edges, or door hardware.
  4. Doff with controlled peel-away: untie waist first; peel away from the body; avoid snapping motions that can aerosolize residues.
  5. Immediate change triggers: puncture/tear, strap weld damage, significant splash event, or uncontrolled contact with non-process surfaces.

Cleaning and wipe-down strategy (make the apron work for you)
  • Wipe top-to-bottom: prevent run-off into waist ties and behind the apron boundary.
  • Use a low-lint wiper: reduces residue transfer and helps maintain housekeeping standards in controlled environments.
  • Validate chemistry + contact time: in regulated programs, don’t assume a disinfectant is effective without documented contact time and surface compatibility.
Recommended Texwipe pairings (reduce residue and transfer risk)
