Ansell AlphaTec® 02-100 Chemical-Resistant LLDPE Laminate Gloves
1. Product scope & intended use
AlphaTec® 02-100 gloves are designed as a lightweight, disposable chemical barrier for tasks involving
intermittent contact, splash exposure, and short-duration handling of aggressive chemicals.
This glove is engineered to address permeation risk across multiple chemical classes—not mechanical hazards.
These gloves are frequently staged for spill response, chemical transfer, sampling, and
maintenance support where exposure risk exists but extended immersion or abrasion is not expected.
2. Material & construction analysis
The AlphaTec® 02-100 uses a five-layer laminated film construction based on linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE).
Laminated gloves differ fundamentally from coated or dipped gloves: protection is achieved by chemical diffusion resistance,
not by thickness or mechanical strength.
An integral nonwoven inner liner improves wearer comfort by helping manage perspiration, while the
hand-specific anatomical design with wing thumb reduces strain during short-duration tasks.
3. Chemical protection positioning
Laminated gloves such as the 02-100 are selected when a single polymer (e.g., nitrile, neoprene, PVC)
cannot provide adequate resistance across the chemical profile.
The multilayer structure slows permeation from a wide range of organic and inorganic chemicals.
This glove is best suited for splash, intermittent contact, and contingency exposure.
It is not intended for abrasion-intensive work, sharp handling, or prolonged immersion.
4. Mechanical & ergonomic considerations
Due to its thin laminate construction, the AlphaTec® 02-100 provides limited cut, tear, and abrasion resistance
compared to thicker coated gloves.
In practice, many programs deploy this glove as an outer chemical barrier over a
cut-resistant, thermal, or comfort liner when additional mechanical protection is required.
5. Standards & guidance references
- EN ISO 374-1 (Type A) — chemical protection classification (letter codes vary by region, size, and lot)
- EN ISO 374-5 — protection against microorganisms, including virus
- Category III PPE under applicable regional conformity frameworks
Always verify markings on the specific product packaging supplied, as certifications can vary by market and production run.
6. Selection & use guidance
Choose AlphaTec® 02-100 when:
- Chemical splash risk exists across multiple chemical classes
- Task duration is short and dexterity demands are minimal
- A disposable, rapidly deployable barrier is required
Consider alternative glove constructions when prolonged immersion, abrasion, or cut risk is present.
7. Recommended PPE pairings

documented chemical compatibility data, task duration, exposure conditions, and site-specific risk assessment.
