Overview

AlphaTec® 2300 STANDARD Model 111 is a lightweight, medium-duty protective coverall designed for low-hazard chemical environments where incidental splash/spray and workplace contamination are credible risks. The manufacturer describes a polyethylene (PE) barrier coating on a bi-component nonwoven inner layer to support routine protection while remaining relatively durable and wearable.

Ansell is a best-in-class PPE manufacturer, and SOSCleanroom maintains a close working relationship with Ansell to help customers standardize garment specs, maintain consistent supply, and keep documentation aligned for EHS programs and audits.

Why this coverall matters for worker safety
  • Front-line barrier control: Helps reduce skin and clothing contact during transfer, washdown, maintenance, and cleanup tasks.
  • High-visibility garment: Bright yellow improves awareness in busy work cells and supports safer movement/communication.
  • Wearability supports compliance: Lightweight construction helps teams keep PPE on for the full task—not just the first five minutes.
  • Electrostatic consideration: Anti-static performance is stated as tested to EN 1149-5 for environments where static control is part of the safety plan.

Typical tasks supported (published examples)
  • Equipment maintenance and repair
  • Assembly and inspection of components
  • Handling structural and body components
  • Fiberglass/resin applications and ceramic fiber tasks (as specified by the manufacturer)
  • General plant work where low-hazard chemical splash control is needed

Packaging and handling

Sold by the case: 25 individually packed coveralls. Individually packed garments support controlled distribution and reduce the chance of issuing damaged/contaminated PPE from open bulk cartons.

Replace immediately if torn, punctured, or visibly contaminated. Follow your facility SOP for disposal based on the chemical(s) handled.

Storage and lifecycle control
  • Store in original packaging, in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Inspect zippers, flap adhesion area, and seams before use.
  • Use FIFO and track expiration dates where required by your safety program.

PPE Program Article Low-Hazard Chemical Splash Control Donning & Doffing Discipline AlphaTec® 2300 Model 111

Why “low-hazard” exposures still cause real incidents

Many workplace chemical injuries are not caused by major releases. They occur during routine work: transferring liquids, wiping equipment, cleaning lines, washdown, or maintenance. Small splashes and contact events add up over time, and the risk increases when PPE is uncomfortable, inconsistently worn, or selected without matching the task conditions.

What Model 111 is designed to do

The AlphaTec® 2300 STANDARD Model 111 coverall is specified as a lightweight, medium-duty barrier garment for tasks where incidental splash/spray exposure is credible. The manufacturer describes a PE barrier coating on a bi-component nonwoven inner layer and highlights visibility-focused yellow coloring for safer work.

Importantly, “protective clothing” is a system: fabric, seams, closures, and how the garment is worn. Model 111 uses bound seams and includes a 2-way zipper with a resealable storm flap plus a respirator-fit hood and elasticated interfaces to help maintain coverage during movement.

Training-ready: donning and doffing that prevents secondary exposure
  • Donning: Inspect seams and zipper area first. Zip fully and secure the storm flap. Confirm wrist/ankle elastic sits flat (no gaps).
  • Hood fit: Position the hood to protect neck/side-face exposure (and confirm it does not obstruct vision or hearing).
  • Glove interface: Use the right glove for the chemical(s) handled per SDS. Ensure glove/cuff overlap is consistent for the task.
  • Change triggers: Replace immediately if torn, punctured, or contaminated; do not “work through” damage.
  • Doffing: Treat the exterior as contaminated. Remove by rolling the suit outward and away from the body; perform hand hygiene per SOP.

Ensemble thinking: what completes the protection

Coveralls protect the body, but many incidents happen at interfaces: hands, eyes/face, and footwear. A practical safety program standardizes complete task kits so teams do not improvise under pressure.

  • Hands: chemical-specific glove selection via SDS (Ansell AlphaTec® chemical glove portfolio).
  • Eyes/face: safety glasses/goggles; add a face shield where splash potential exists.
  • Footwear: add overboots where run-off/pooling is credible to prevent tracking and ankle exposure.
  • Torso reinforcement: if front-of-body exposure is frequent, add an apron layer over the coverall (per hazard assessment).

Why SOSCleanroom emphasizes best-in-class Ansell PPE

PPE programs succeed when products are consistent: workers recognize them, supervisors can train and audit against them, and purchasing can keep supply stable without substitutions. SOSCleanroom works closely with Ansell to support specification standardization, documentation access, and dependable replenishment planning.
