Ansell glove sizing guide
Use the Ansell hand-placement chart below as a general fitting
reference. The chart must be printed at its intended scale before
it is used for hand placement; a resized screen image is not a
measuring template.
Open the printable Ansell glove sizing chart
- Print the PDF at 100% scale without automatic page fitting or resizing.
- Place the right hand palm down with the fingers together, using the hand outline and blue alignment line as shown.
- Match the outside edge of the hand to the colored size reference.
- Confirm the result by checking finger movement, palm fit, cuff security, and grip in the actual 11-644 glove.

Declaration scope:
The manufacturer EU Declaration of Conformity reviewed for
products manufactured from March 18, 2022 identifies
EN 388:2016+A1:2018 and EN ISO 21420:2020. The document also
contains earlier manufacturing-period declarations.
Match the applicable declaration to the supplied product;
do not transfer a standards revision from another HyFlex model.
EN 388 code breakdown: 4342B
The EN 388 marking separates abrasion, circular-blade cut,
tear, mechanical puncture, and ISO 13997 cut performance.
The second digit is not an ANSI cut rating, and the final
letter B identifies a separate cut classification.
| Position |
Rating |
Performance area |
| First digit | 4 | Abrasion resistance |
| Second digit | 3 | Circular-blade cut resistance |
| Third digit | 4 | Tear resistance |
| Fourth digit | 2 | Mechanical puncture resistance |
| Letter | B | ISO 13997 cut resistance |
Test-scope reminder:
Ansell's instructions explain that EN 388 mechanical performance
is based on palm testing. Do not assume the same protection
at the back of the hand or cuff where construction differs.
The 4342B marking does not include an impact-protection P.
ANSI rating interpretation
| ANSI rating |
Practical interpretation |
| Cut A2 |
Cut-resistant performance for qualifying handling tasks. Suitability depends on the actual edge, contact force, and movement, not the task name alone. |
| Abrasion 5 |
High standardized abrasion performance. It does not guarantee a fixed service life or retention of protection after wear. |
| Puncture 3 |
General mechanical puncture resistance. It does not establish hypodermic-needle or ultra-fine sharp protection. |
Selection principle:
Treat cut, abrasion, puncture, and grip as separate requirements.
A favorable result in one category does not establish protection
against a different hazard.

Thin-palm comparison:
Ansell attributes the 20% result to standardized laboratory
comparisons conducted in December 2025 against similar
competitive gloves. The reviewed product documents do not
identify an absolute palm thickness or every product in
the comparison group.
Grip-source distinction:
Dry/light oil handling and grey-palm soil masking are included
in the supplied SOSCleanroom copy and in legacy Ansell product
literature. These statements do not establish a current
quantified oil-grip test result, oil repellency, or chemical
breakthrough protection. Confirm handling control on the
actual workpiece.
Ansell Earth profile
Ansell publishes the following manufacturing and packaging
attributes for HyFlex 11-644. They describe the manufacturer's
environmental profile, not additional glove hazard protection
or cleanroom cleanliness performance.
- Manufactured in a facility identified as Intertek-certified for diverting more than 99% of waste from landfill
- Manufactured in a facility with an environmental management system identified as certified to ISO 14001:2015 by BSI
- Packaging identified as plastic-free
- Packaging identified as recyclable
- Shipper case identified as containing at least 80% recycled material
- Primary packaging redesigned to use 70% less plastic, on average, versus the previous packaging
- Paperband made from responsibly sourced raw material
- Shipper case sizes optimized for shipping efficiency
The sustainability factsheet explains the 70% comparison in terms
of replacing the previous U-shaped paper insert and polybag with
a paperband. These are manufacturer-reported packaging attributes.
Confirm the packaging revision supplied when it is part of a
purchasing or environmental reporting requirement.

Scope note:
Facility waste-diversion claims are not claims that every
glove is recyclable in every local waste stream. Packaging
descriptions and pack counts do not establish the packaging
revision of every carton already in inventory.
Suitable for
- Press shop material handling
- Handling metal sheets and panels
- Handling parts with sharp or rough edges
- Inspection, picking, checking, and marking
- Handling glass, sheets, and panels during approved cutting workflows
- Automotive production and qualifying maintenance activities
- Machinery and equipment work
- Dry and light oil handling after confirming actual grip and contamination conditions
- Precision handling where reduced palm bulk is preferred and the documented cut rating is sufficient
Application boundary:
References to press shops and cutting processes concern
suitable material-handling tasks. They do not approve
glove contact with moving blades, unguarded tooling,
or equipment presenting an entanglement risk.
Not recommended for
- Chemical immersion or tasks requiring validated chemical breakthrough protection
- Liquidproof barrier protection
- High heat, open flame, molten-metal splash, or other thermal-protection tasks
- Moving blade hazards, powered cutting tools, or machinery presenting entanglement risks
- Needle, hypodermic, or ultra-fine puncture hazards
- Electrical insulation or antistatic-controlled applications requiring validated antistatic PPE
- Cut hazards requiring a higher ANSI or ISO cut classification
- Heavy oil saturation requiring specifically qualified oil-repellent or liquid-repellent glove construction
- Silicone-sensitive painting, coating, bonding, or contamination-control processes without site approval
- Sterile workflows or controlled environments requiring documented sterile or cleanroom-specific gloves
Inspection before use
- Inspect the polyurethane coating for cuts, punctures, cracking, peeling, worn-through areas, or reduced grip.
- Check fingertips, the thumb crotch, palm, and other contact zones for coating separation or abrasion damage.
- Confirm that the liner has no holes, tears, broken yarns, or excessive thinning. Do not mistake the intentionally uncoated knitted back for damage.
- Check that the knitwrist cuff remains secure and is not torn, excessively stretched, or contaminated.
- Do not use gloves contaminated with unknown chemicals, incompatible substances, or oils and greases that compromise the approved task.
- Replace gloves when physical integrity, grip, fit, tactility, or suitability for the process is compromised.
Inspection limitation:
Visual checks can identify damage but cannot measure remaining
cut resistance or certify that a worn glove still meets its
original laboratory classification. Grey coloring can mask
soil and should not be treated as evidence of cleanliness.
Storage and handling notes
- Store in the original packaging in a dry location at room temperature.
- Protect from direct sunlight and ozone sources, following Ansell's instructions.
- Keep gloves away from excessive heat, ignition sources, sharp objects, and incompatible chemicals.
- Avoid storage conditions that crush, damage, or contaminate the coated palm.
- Use clean, dry hands when donning and confirm that the glove interior is clean.
- Follow the workplace procedures for reuse, inspection, laundering, contamination control, and disposal.
Laundering:
Ansell lists 40°C / 104°F as the washing temperature.
Use the care pictograms and permitted laundering cycles on
the supplied packaging. The temperature entry alone does
not establish a complete cleaning method, unlimited reuse,
or unchanged performance after repeated use.
Cleanroom and controlled-environment note
HyFlex 11-644 is an industrial cut-resistant handling glove.
The reviewed manufacturer product documents do not establish
a sterile, cleanroom-processed, or ISO-cleanroom designation
for this model.
Before approval for a controlled environment, evaluate
particulate and fiber release, extractables, coating condition,
packaging, laundering, contamination transfer, silicone
restrictions, antistatic requirements, and gowning procedures.
Use separately qualified gloves when sterile or validated
low-particle hand protection is required.
Process-control reminder:
Ansell lists both antistatic and silicone-free as No.
General mechanical ratings, REACH information, or a clean
visual appearance do not override those product attributes.
Technical FAQs
What is the cut level of HyFlex 11-644?
Ansell lists ANSI/ISEA 105-2024 Cut A2 and ISO 13997 cut level B within the EN 388 4342B marking.

No sterile or ISO-cleanroom designation is established by the reviewed manufacturer documents. Use separately qualified gloves when those requirements apply.
Critical use limitations
HyFlex 11-644 provides documented A2 / EN ISO B cut-resistant
mechanical hand protection. It is not intended as chemical
immersion protection, validated chemical breakthrough protection,
a liquidproof barrier, electrical insulation, thermal protection,
flame protection, molten-metal PPE, or needle protection.
Final selection must account for edge sharpness, applied force,
abrasion exposure, puncture geometry, grip requirements, oil
contamination, silicone restrictions, antistatic requirements,
coating condition, glove fit, and replacement criteria.
Do not use the glove where moving machinery creates an
entanglement risk or where required cut protection exceeds
the documented classification.
