Ansell AlphaTec™ 2000 Model 209 Standard Bound Lab Coat — Breathable Microporous Protection (30/Case)

The Ansell AlphaTec™ 2000 Model 209 Standard Bound Lab Coat offers a breathable, low-linting microporous laminate barrier against low-concentration liquid chemicals, fine particulates, and biological hazards. Bound seams and a front zipper with protective flap help resist particle penetration while providing wearer comfort and moisture vapor permeability for reduced heat stress in controlled environments. This lab coat is intended as a disposable, non-sterile partial-body protective garment for labs, cleanroom prep zones, production support, and similar workflows.

Cleanroom note: Non-sterile lab coats like Model 209 are best suited for support and prep areas unless your SOP specifically requires sterile attire in higher grades. Always align garment use with your facility classification and gowning policy.

AlphaTec™ 2000 Model 209 Microporous Laminate Low-Linting Bound Seams Non-Sterile

Ansell AlphaTec™ 2000 Standard Bound Lab Coat Model 209 — breathable microporous barrier for controlled prep & support environments

Product Purpose and Overview

The AlphaTec™ 2000 Model 209 Standard Bound Lab Coat is engineered to balance contamination control with wearer comfort. Its breathable microporous laminate resists low-concentration liquid spray and fine particulates while permitting moisture vapor to escape, helping reduce heat stress during extended use. Suitable for support roles in controlled environments when your gowning SOP doesn't mandate sterile attire.

Materials and Build

Model 209 uses a breathable microporous polyethylene laminate designed to let perspiration escape while maintaining a 0.01 µm particulate filtration basis. Bound seams enhance liquid and particle barriers and contribute to the garment's low-linting performance.

Performance Context

Model 209's breathable laminate reduces heat stress compared to traditional non-breathable garments. While microporous laminate is effective for particulate barriers and low concentration liquid spray, donning technique and gowning SOPs significantly influence real-world contamination outcomes.

Proper Gowning (ISO First)

In controlled environments, proper donning minimizes contamination risk regardless of garment type. ISO cleanroom operations guidance emphasizes controlling personnel as a contamination source — even in support zones where non-sterile lab coats are used.

Don sequence: perform hand hygiene, unpackage and handle only internal garment surfaces, then don carefully to avoid touching external surfaces.
Minimize motion: slow, deliberate movements reduce particle shedding during entry to higher classification zones.
Cover closures: ensure zipper meet and flap are closed securely; confirm pockets lay flat to reduce particle traps.
Final check: mirror or buddy check for gaps/exposed areas before entering controlled areas.
