Texwipe TX3214 Sterile TechniSat® 9" x 11" Polyester/Cellulose Cleanroom Wipers - Pre-Wetted 70% IPA / 30% DIW - 1,000 Wipers/Case

Texwipe TX3214 Sterile TechniSat® is a gamma-irradiated, pre-wetted cleanroom wiper manufactured from 45% polyester and 55% cellulose nonwoven material. Designed for controlled cleaning in environments requiring sterile wiping consumables, TX3214 combines a durable hydroentangled polyester/cellulose substrate with a factory-prepared 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and 30% deionized water (DIW) solution.

Each nominal 9" x 11" wiper features a cleanroom-manufactured nonwoven substrate with cut edges. The hydroentangled construction uses mechanically interlocked polyester and cellulose fibers to provide liquid sorption and a flexible wiping surface without relying on added chemical binders.

TX3214 is pre-wetted with 70% USP-grade IPA / 30% DIW, with the solution filtered to 0.2 µm. Factory preparation helps reduce variability associated with manually mixing alcohol and wetting dry wiping materials at the point of use.

Texwipe identifies TX3214 as gamma irradiated and sterility validated to a Sterility Assurance Level (SAL) of 10-6 according to AAMI guidance. The manufacturer provides lot-related Certificates of Compliance, Analysis, and Processing/Irradiation upon request. These documents support quality review and traceability for regulated cleaning programs.

Texwipe positions the product for ISO Classes 5 through 8 and EU GMP Grades B through D. These are manufacturer-identified environmental application ranges. They do not certify the cleanroom itself, authorize every aseptic operation, or independently demonstrate that a particular cleaning procedure is effective.

TX3214 is supplied in peel-and-reseal sterile flexpacks containing 50 pre-wetted wipers. One manufacturer case contains 20 flexpacks, totaling 1,000 wipers. SOSCleanroom offers TX3214 by the complete manufacturer case.

The manufacturer specifies a three-year shelf life from manufacture. Follow the labeled expiration date, verify package integrity before use, and apply facility-approved material-transfer and opened-pack handling procedures.

Sterile Cleaning Advantage: TX3214 combines gamma-irradiated sterile wiping material, controlled 70% IPA / 30% DIW pre-wetting, and lot-related manufacturer documentation. Its 50-count peel-and-reseal flexpacks support controlled dispensing and repeatable cleaning within approved sterile-material handling procedures.

Polyester/Cellulose Nonwoven Construction and Limitations:

TX3214 uses a 45% polyester / 55% cellulose hydroentangled nonwoven substrate. The two materials contribute different characteristics to the finished wiper, including strength, absorbency, flexibility, and liquid pickup.

  • Polyester Component: Contributes strength and durability during suitable wiping.
  • Cellulose Component: Contributes liquid absorption and the handling characteristics of the blended substrate.
  • Hydroentanglement: Mechanically binds the fibers without added chemical binders.
  • Cut Edges: Do not provide the fiber containment of a sealed-border polyester wiper.
  • Material Cleanliness: Manufacturer testing characterizes typical particle, fiber, ion, and extractables results.
  • Critical Residue Applications: Compare the cellulose blend with an appropriate polyester alternative where extremely low residues or fibers are required.
  • Mechanical Limits: Avoid abrasive contact with sharp edges, burrs, or damaged surfaces that can disrupt the nonwoven substrate.
  • Surface Compatibility: Confirm the IPA solution and substrate are suitable for coatings, adhesives, plastics, and equipment finishes.

Material Selection Guidance: TX3214 is a cut-edge polyester/cellulose nonwoven wipe. Its sterile status does not make its particle, fiber, or residue performance equivalent to a sealed-border 100% polyester substrate. Select using the process's actual contamination-control requirements.

Gamma Irradiation, SAL and Lot Documentation:

Texwipe states that sterile TX3214 undergoes gamma irradiation and is validated to a Sterility Assurance Level of 10-6 under its AAMI-based sterilization program. The SAL describes the validated sterilization process and must not be interpreted as a guarantee that improper handling, damaged packaging, or an expired product remains sterile.

For documentation-controlled receiving and use, the applicable manufacturer certificates should be matched to the specific received product lot. General product literature is not a substitute for actual lot records.

  • Gamma Irradiation: Manufacturer-confirmed sterilization method.
  • Validated SAL: 10-6, according to the manufacturer's sterilization qualification.
  • Certificate of Compliance: Available for individual lots.
  • Certificate of Analysis: Available for individual lots.
  • Certificate of Processing/Irradiation: Available for individual lots and supports review of recorded irradiation processing.
  • Actual Irradiation Dose: Review the applicable lot certificate rather than assuming a fixed dose.
  • Validation Documentation: Available from Texwipe upon request.
  • Expiration Dating: Verify the package label and applicable receiving requirements.
  • Packaging Integrity: Do not use compromised sterile packages in applications requiring intact sterile supply.
  • Lot Traceability: Preserve lot references for quality records and investigations.

Important Sterility Qualification Guidance: TX3214 has manufacturer-confirmed gamma sterilization and a validated SAL of 10-6. Specific processing doses, certificate numbers, and lot-release evidence must be verified from the actual certificates accompanying or associated with the received lot.

70% USP-Grade IPA / 30% DIW Cleaning Chemistry:

TX3214 uses a factory-prepared 70% USP-grade IPA / 30% DIW solution filtered to 0.2 µm. The chemistry is intended for approved surface-cleaning procedures requiring a pre-wetted sterile consumable.

  • 70% IPA: Provides the alcohol component used for cleaning compatible soils and residues.
  • 30% DIW: Provides the water component of the wetting formulation.
  • USP-Grade IPA: Explicitly identified by Texwipe for sterile TX3214.
  • 0.2 µm Filtration: Used in preparing the pre-wetting solution.
  • Factory Pre-Wetting: Reduces manual IPA mixing and individual wipe saturation.
  • Controlled Initial Wetness: Supports consistent starting conditions when packages are stored and handled correctly.
  • Specific Liquid Loading: The manufacturer TDS does not provide a numerical mL-per-wiper fill specification.
  • Evaporation: Prolonged opening may alter the remaining wetness and solvent concentration.
  • Surface Compatibility: Check plastics, coatings, adhesives, labels, electronics, and sensitive finishes before use.
  • Disinfection Efficacy: The manufacturer documents reviewed do not establish a TX3214-specific registered disinfectant claim or universal microorganism contact time.
  • Sporicidal Efficacy: A separate qualified sporicidal process is necessary where specified.
  • Regulated Use: Follow the facility's approved cleaning, disinfection, and environmental-control procedures.

Sterility Versus Disinfection: Gamma-sterilized wiping material is not the same as a validated surface disinfectant. Avoid treating sterile processing as proof of surface disinfection efficacy. TX3214 should be used according to an approved method, with a separately qualified disinfectant or sporicide when required.

Sterile Package Transfer and Handling:

The condition of sterile wipes at the point of use depends on maintaining appropriate package integrity and cleanroom transfer controls. Follow the facility's procedures for introducing sterile consumables into classified work areas.

  • Receiving Inspection: Verify SKU, lot, expiration, packaging condition, and documentation.
  • Material Introduction: Follow the approved transfer sequence for the destination room.
  • Exterior Decontamination: Clean or disinfect the package exterior only using a method approved for the packaging material and transfer procedure.
  • Package Integrity: Inspect before opening; do not use torn, leaking, or compromised packages where sterility is required.
  • Opening Procedure: Avoid contacting the sterile contents with uncontrolled surfaces, gloves, or package exteriors.
  • Resealing: Close the peel-and-reseal package promptly to help limit evaporation.
  • Opened-Pack Use: Apply facility-approved in-use time and sterility-handling limits.
  • Handling Contamination: Discard wipes whose sterile condition has been compromised.
  • Unused Material: Do not return used wipes to the original package.
  • Records: Preserve the relevant lot and cleaning-use information where required.

Transfer Guidance: Sterile validation applies to the manufacturer's qualified product and packaging condition. Reclosing an opened flexpack does not independently reestablish sterile integrity. Apply the approved transfer and in-use procedure for the specific cleanroom operation.

Recommended Controlled Wiping Procedure:

TX3214 supports repeatable wiping when the substrate, 70% IPA chemistry, sterile package handling, operator technique, and change-out requirements are controlled together. The following general sequence should be adapted to the facility's approved SOP.

  1. Confirm Product Approval: Verify that the sterile polyester/cellulose material and IPA chemistry are suitable for the task.
  2. Verify the Lot: Confirm identification, expiration, and required certificates.
  3. Inspect the Flexpack: Check integrity before material transfer and opening.
  4. Complete Material Transfer: Follow approved cleanroom introduction and packaging decontamination steps.
  5. Use Required PPE: Follow gowning and chemical protection procedures.
  6. Control Ignition Sources: Confirm that alcohol-containing wipes may be used safely in the work area.
  7. Open Carefully: Avoid contaminating sterile wiping material during dispensing.
  8. Remove the Needed Wipe: Do not expose more material than the procedure permits.
  9. Reseal Promptly: Close the flexpack to limit evaporation, subject to approved opened-pack requirements.
  10. Fold for Control: Create manageable wiping faces when permitted by the SOP.
  11. Use Directional Strokes: Wipe in consistent, overlapping passes following the approved clean-to-less-clean sequence.
  12. Change Wiping Faces: Avoid returning a contaminated face to an already cleaned surface.
  13. Monitor Surface Condition: Follow defined acceptance criteria for residues, wetness, and drying.
  14. Discard as Required: Replace wipes when soiled, damaged, dry, compromised, or at the specified change-out point.
  15. Document the Activity: Record the required cleaning and material information.

Operational Guidance: Texwipe does not publish a universal surface-coverage area, fixed number of passes, or validated microbial wet-contact time for TX3214. These operating limits must be defined through the site-specific cleaning and contamination-control procedure.

Typical Particle, Fiber, Ionic and Extractables Performance:

Texwipe's US-TDS-003 Rev. 4/23 reports the following typical laboratory values for the TechniCloth® polyester/cellulose substrate family. These are material-selection reference values, not guaranteed lot-specific TX3214 acceptance limits.

Typical Manufacturer Characteristic Reported Value

ISO Class 5–8 EU GMP Grades B–D Sterile SAL 10-6 Gamma Irradiated 55% Cellulose / 45% Polyester Hydroentangled Nonwoven Cut Edge 70% USP-Grade IPA / 30% DIW 0.2 µm Filtered Solution 9" × 11" 50 Wipers / Flexpack 1,000 Wipers / Case 3-Year Shelf Life

Texwipe TX3214 Sterile TechniSat®: 9" × 11" cellulose/polyester cleanroom wipers pre-wetted with 70% IPA

Texwipe TX3214 Sterile TechniSat® Pre-Wetted Cleanroom Wipers are gamma-irradiated, hydroentangled nonwoven cleaning wipes manufactured from a 55% cellulose / 45% polyester blend with cut edges.

Each 9" × 11" (23 × 28 cm) wipe is pre-wetted with 0.2 µm-filtered 70% USP-grade isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and 30% deionized water (DIW). Factory preparation reduces routine manual mixing and helps standardize initial solvent delivery.

Texwipe states that sterile TechniSat® products are gamma irradiated and validated to a Sterility Assurance Level of 10-6 according to AAMI guidance. Lot-specific certificates of Compliance, Analysis and Processing/Irradiation are available from the manufacturer.

The manufacturer identifies this product family for ISO Classes 5–8 and EU GMP Grades B–D. These ranges describe the intended product application environments, not certification of a particular facility or universal approval for every aseptic process.

TX3214 is supplied in peel-and-reseal flexpacks containing 50 sterile pre-wetted wipes. A manufacturer case contains 20 flexpacks, totaling 1,000 wipes. SOSCleanroom provides the full case under TX3214 CASE.

Operations takeaway: TX3214 combines sterility validation, factory-prepared 70% IPA, absorbent cellulose/polyester material and lot-traceable flexpack packaging. These features support appropriately qualified sterile-area cleaning procedures. The completed wiping method still requires controlled material transfer, appropriate wetness, contamination prevention, chemical safety and documented change-out practices.

ISO-first context: sterile wiper selection and cleanroom operations

Cleanroom operations require documented controls for material selection, personnel activities, cleaning, equipment maintenance, environmental monitoring and contamination prevention. ISO 14644-5 addresses operational controls for cleanrooms and associated controlled environments.

A wiping material should be qualified against the actual cleaning objective, required sterility, particle and fiber limits, solvent chemistry, surface compatibility and approved handling procedure.

Texwipe designates sterile TechniSat® for ISO Classes 5–8 and EU GMP Grades B–D. Use in an aseptic area remains subject to the facility's contamination-control strategy, applicable regulations and specific operating procedure.

Classification distinction: ISO Classes 5–8 identify a manufacturer application range, not a certification of a room, cleaning method or microbial reduction. The product's sterile designation is a separate controlled manufacturing characteristic.

Sterility Assurance Level: interpreting SAL 10-6

Texwipe describes its sterile TechniSat® products as gamma irradiated and sterile validated according to AAMI guidance.

  • Terminal processing: Gamma irradiation.
  • Manufacturer validation target: SAL 10-6.
  • SAL meaning: A statistical sterility assurance target associated with the validated process.
  • Validation: Relies on defined microbiological and irradiation controls.
  • Lot release: Depends on satisfactory completion of applicable manufacturer controls.
  • Individual wipes: The SAL claim does not mean each finished wipe is individually tested for sterility.
  • Packaging integrity: Must be maintained to preserve the intended sterile presentation.
  • After opening: Continued suitability depends on the facility's approved aseptic handling and in-use controls.

Sterility distinction: SAL 10-6 describes the manufacturer's validated sterilization process. It does not replace a lot-specific Certificate of Processing/Irradiation or guarantee that material remains sterile after its packaging has been compromised or opened.

Lot-specific irradiation and quality documentation
  • Certificate of Processing/Irradiation: Documents irradiation processing for the relevant lot.
  • Recorded dose: Review the minimum and maximum delivered dose information where provided.
  • Certificate of Compliance: Supports verification against applicable manufacturer requirements.

  8. Dispense without contaminating unused wipes: Control contact with the contents.
  9. Reseal promptly when permitted: Help limit solvent evaporation and incidental exposure.
  10. Apply in-use restrictions: Follow the defined post-opening period and any applicable sterility controls.

Critical handling limitation: A peel-and-reseal package supports dispensing but does not independently guarantee sterility after repeated opening. Any continued use of an opened flexpack must follow the facility's approved aseptic handling and in-use policy.

Hydroentangled cellulose/polyester: material characteristics
  • Composition: 55% cellulose / 45% polyester.
  • Structure: Hydroentangled nonwoven.
  • Binder-free construction: Mechanical fiber entanglement without a separate bonding binder.
  • Cellulose contribution: Supports liquid absorption and general-purpose wiping.
  • Polyester contribution: Supports the integrity of the blended substrate.
  • Cut edges: Do not provide a sealed perimeter.
  • Surface interaction: Mechanical abrasion may affect fibers and particle release.
  • General cleaning: Suitable for evaluation on appropriate environmental and equipment surfaces.
  • Critical residue processes: May require a separately qualified synthetic or sealed-border substrate.

Material selection: TX3214 is a cellulose/polyester nonwoven, not a 100% polyester knit. Its cellulose content and cut-edge construction must be considered when particle, fiber, extractable residue or critical final-cleaning limits are stringent.

Typical TechniCloth® cleanliness and physical properties

Texwipe's current manufacturer-linked TechniCloth® Technical Data Sheet, US-TDS-003 Rev. 4/23, provides the following typical family material analyses.

  • Basis weight: 69 g/m²
  • Sorptive capacity: 360 mL/m²
  • Sorptive rate: Less than 0.3 seconds
  • Particles ≥0.5 µm: 72 × 106 particles/m²
  • Fibers greater than 100 µm: 55,000 fibers/m²
  • NVR, IPA extractant: 0.01 g/m²
  • NVR, DIW extractant: 0.03 g/m²
  • NVR, ethanol extractant: 0.01 g/m²
  • Sodium: 12 ppm
  • Potassium: 1 ppm
  • Chloride: 10 ppm
  • Particles and fibers: Manufacturer TM22 and cited IEST/ASTM methods
  • NVR: Texwipe TM1
  • Ionic analysis: Texwipe TM18
  • Absorbency: Texwipe TM20

Data interpretation: These figures are typical TechniCloth® substrate-family results, not guaranteed individual TX3214 lot-release specifications. The numbers do not describe the volume of 70% IPA loaded per wipe, final surface cleanliness or the sterile irradiation dose.

Cellulose blend versus polyester knit: practical contamination control
  • Cellulose/polyester blends: Often useful for general environmental wiping and absorbency-focused cleaning.
  • 100% polyester knits: May provide a different particle, fiber and abrasion performance profile.
  • Cut versus sealed edges: Can influence perimeter fiber release.
  • Material extractables: Depend on the exact substrate and cleaning process.
  • High-purity processes: May require lower levels of fibers, particles or ionic residues than a cellulose blend provides.
  • Surface sensitivity: Check mechanical compatibility and the consequences of retained moisture.
  • Qualification: Compare manufacturer measurements under the same methods when selecting alternatives.

Selection principle: Do not automatically replace a specified sealed-border polyester wipe with TX3214 solely because the IPA formulation and sterile status are similar. Material construction and cleanliness characteristics must satisfy the actual acceptance criteria.

70% USP-grade IPA / 30% DIW: controlled pre-wet chemistry
  • Wetting formulation: 70% IPA / 30% DIW.
  • IPA grade: USP-grade.
  • Solution filtration: 0.2 µm.
  • Factory wetting: Helps standardize initial chemical preparation.
  • Pre-wetted presentation: Reduces the routine need for on-site alcohol dilution and saturation.
  • Cleaning: Supports removal of suitable soils and processing residues through approved wiping.
  • Evaporation: Alcohol loss may affect wetness after opening.
  • Surface compatibility: Verify resistance of plastics, coatings, elastomers, adhesives and equipment.
  • Disinfection: Requires appropriate efficacy evidence, qualified procedures and any applicable contact time.

Chemistry limitation: 70% IPA describes the supplied formulation, not a universal disinfection guarantee. Sterile processing of the wipe does not establish microbial efficacy on every surface or eliminate requirements for a separately qualified disinfectant or sporicide.

Actual liquid loading versus sorptive capacity
  • Verified solution: 70% IPA / 30% DIW.
  • Factory preparation: Designed for repeatable pre-wetting.
  • Exact mL per wipe: Not established in the reviewed public manufacturer TDS.
  • Liquid-loading tolerance: No numerical individual-wipe release range established.
  • Sorptive capacity: 360 mL/m² is a laboratory material characteristic.
  • Surface coverage: Must be qualified under the intended wiping procedure.
  • Open-pack exposure: May affect wetness through evaporation.
  • Change-out: Replace when the material is loaded or insufficiently wet.

Loading distinction: 360 mL/m² is the typical capacity of the substrate, not the volume of 70% IPA solution supplied on each TX3214 wipe. A process with a defined minimum solvent loading must obtain additional controlled evidence or perform appropriate qualification.

Sterile surface wiping: recommended operational sequence
  1. Confirm the approved procedure: Verify TX3214 is permitted for the cleaning step.
  2. Review material status: Check package identity, lot, expiration and sterile integrity.
  3. Complete controlled transfer: Follow the facility's established material-entry process.
  4. Check work-area safety: Apply appropriate ventilation, ignition-source and PPE controls.
  5. Dispense aseptically: Avoid contamination of the remaining wipes and packaging surfaces.
  6. Inspect wetness: Confirm the wipe is suitable for the intended application.
  7. Fold consistently: Prepare usable wiping faces according to the SOP.
  8. Follow the approved wiping path: Use controlled, overlapping strokes in the prescribed direction.
  9. Avoid backtracking: Prevent a loaded wipe face from returning contamination to a cleaned surface.
  10. Control pressure: Avoid unnecessary abrasion and liquid squeezing.
  11. Replace when required: Use clean material at the approved change-out point.
  12. Meet wet-contact requirements: Follow the validated process if a separate disinfectant step is specified.
  13. Manage the opened flexpack: Apply approved resealing and in-use controls.
  14. Dispose appropriately: Follow the facility's solvent-wetted waste procedure.
  15. Document the activity: Record required cleaning and material information.

Method control: Sterility validation of the packaged wiper does not replace operator technique. Define stroke direction, overlap, face changes, maximum surface coverage, wetness and post-opening material-use limits within the applicable SOP.

Cleaning versus disinfection: a sterile wipe is not a validated disinfectant
  • Sterile TX3214: Has a manufacturer-validated gamma irradiation process.
  • Cleaning function: Physically removes compatible soils and residues.
  • 70% IPA: Identifies the supplied pre-wetting chemistry.
  • Disinfection: Requires an appropriate disinfectant product and a qualified procedure.
  • Wet-contact time: Must be established for the intended microbial-control objective.
  • Sporicidal activity: Must not be assumed from standard IPA pre-wetting.
  • Heavy soil: May require an approved preliminary cleaning step.
  • Critical operations: Follow applicable regulatory and facility requirements.

Critical distinction: Gamma irradiation provides a finished-product sterility assurance claim, not automatic evidence that the wipe disinfects a contaminated surface. Avoid treating sterile processing as proof of surface-disinfection efficacy.

TX3214 versus nonsterile TX1065 and other sterile materials
  • TX3214: Sterile 9" × 11" cellulose/polyester, 70% IPA.
  • TX1065: Nonsterile 9" × 11" TechniSat®, 70% IPA.
  • TX3213: Sterile 9" × 11" PolySat® polypropylene, 70% IPA.
  • TX3285: Sterile 9" × 9" AlphaSat® 10 sealed-border polyester, 70% IPA.
  • Sterility: Confirm the finished-product designation for each exact SKU.
  • Material: Compare cellulose/polyester, polypropylene and polyester substrates.
  • Edge construction: Cut and sealed-border products are not equivalent.
  • Cleanliness: Review each product's current manufacturer data.
  • Quantity: Compare actual inner-pack and case configurations.
  • Procedure: Require change control for unapproved substitutions.

Substitution warning: The same sterile designation and 70% IPA formulation do not establish equivalent particles, fibers, NVR, ionic performance, absorbency or packaging behavior. Use the exact approved SKU unless an alternative has been qualified.

Typical TX3214 applications
  • Approved wiping of compatible sterile-suite equipment exteriors
  • Cleaning suitable environmental surfaces in controlled areas
  • Wiping appropriate stainless steel fixtures and work surfaces
  • Cleaning compatible production tools and accessories
  • Applying approved cleaning solutions under the governing SOP
  • Removing suitable process and disinfectant residues
  • Controlled cleaning of gloved hands where the procedure permits
  • Wiping appropriate transfer items before entry to controlled areas

Application qualification: TX3214 must be assessed for the actual cleaning surface, material compatibility, sterility requirements, contamination limits and approved use procedure. A sterile wipe alone does not validate the entire contamination-control process.

Common operational failures and prevention
  • Incorrect case count: Use the current 20-flexpack configuration, not historical 24-pack literature.
  • Missing lot certificate: Request and match the actual processing documentation when required.
  • Compromised packaging: Quarantine damaged or leaking sterile packs under the quality procedure.
  • Opened flexpack held too long: Follow the approved in-use limits.
  • Wiper insufficiently wet: Replace before the cleaning method becomes inconsistent.
  • Contamination redeposition: Change wiping faces or replace the wipe.
  • Surface streaks: Evaluate soil loading, wipe technique and compatibility.
  • Cellulose fibers unacceptable: Consider another qualified material.
  • Unverified disinfectant contact time: Follow the applicable disinfectant procedure.
  • Flammability overlooked: Apply current SDS requirements.
  • Historical documentation used: Refer to the newer manufacturer-linked TDS.
  • Wrong purchasing quantity: Confirm TX3214 CASE and the required case total.

When not to substitute TX3214 without additional qualification

  • Very low particle or fiber limits: Check whether the cellulose blend meets the process criteria.
  • Different solvent formulation required: Do not substitute 70% IPA without approval.
  • Sporicidal cleaning required: Use the specified sporicide.
  • Validated microbial surface disinfection required: Use the approved disinfectant and contact time.
  • Specific irradiation dose required: Review the received lot's processing certificate.
  • Exact mL-per-wipe loading mandatory: Obtain additional controlled manufacturer data.
  • Solvent-sensitive surface: Use a qualified alternative.
  • Flammable materials prohibited: Obtain appropriate authorization before use.
  • Opened or damaged package unsuitable for the procedure: Follow disposition rules.
