Teknipure TM-QP258 TekniMop 2Ply Polyester Pocket Mop Cover, 2.5″ x 8″ (Refills) (Case Qty.) - SOSCleanroom Standard Specification

The Teknipure TM-QP258 TekniMop™ 2-Ply Polyester Pocket Mop Cover is a dry, non-sterile cleanroom mop cover designed for small-surface and isolator cleaning applications. Its durable 2-ply polyester construction provides increased liquid retention and controlled solution release for consistent surface wetting, residue removal, spill control, and application of cleaning and disinfecting solutions in critical and controlled environments.

High-absorbency small-surface cleaning: The TM-QP258 combines a compact 2.5" x 8" pocket format with durable 2-ply polyester construction. Supplied dry and non-sterile, it allows facilities to select and control the cleaning chemistry and saturation level required by their cleaning procedure while providing greater liquid-holding capacity than a comparable single-ply material.

Where TM-QP258 Fits in Controlled Environments

TM-QP258 is designed for small-surface cleaning applications where a compact mop system can provide more controlled access than a conventional large-surface mop. Teknipure identifies applications including isolators, RABS, biosafety cabinets, gloveboxes, pass-through chambers, equipment surfaces, work surfaces, benches, and other confined or difficult-to-access areas.

The 2-ply polyester construction provides increased liquid retention for cleaning procedures that require solution application, surface wetting, residue removal, or liquid pickup. Its controlled liquid-release characteristics help distribute cleaning chemistry across the target surface rather than simply acting as a dry mechanical wiping material.

Typical program fit: Isolator and RABS cleaning, biosafety cabinet cleaning, gloveboxes, pass-through chambers, equipment and work surfaces, benches, confined areas, precleaning, residue removal, disinfectant and sanitizer application, and spill control.

TM-QP258 is supplied dry and non-sterile. Cleaning chemistry, saturation level, cover changeout frequency, and suitability for a particular controlled environment should be established according to the facility's validated cleaning procedure and SOP.

About the Manufacturer:

Teknipure develops contamination-control products for cleanrooms and other critical and controlled environments. The TekniMop™ platform combines specialized mop frames, interchangeable handles, and application-specific mop covers to create configurable cleaning systems for pharmaceutical and biologics manufacturing, medical device production, semiconductor and microelectronics manufacturing, optics, aerospace and defense, compounding pharmacies, laboratories, and other controlled environments.

Within the TekniMop™ small-surface system, Teknipure offers dry, presaturated, sterile, and non-sterile mop-cover configurations so facilities can select the format appropriate for their cleaning chemistry, sterility requirements, contamination-control objective, and facility procedures.

TM-QP258 Features:
  • Durable 2-ply polyester construction
  • 2.5" x 8" pocket-style format for small-surface cleaning
  • Dry configuration allows facility-controlled solution selection and saturation
  • Non-sterile format
  • Increased liquid retention compared with single-ply alternatives
  • Controlled liquid release for consistent surface wetting
  • Compatible with IPA, sporicidal agents, and common cleanroom disinfectants and cleaning solutions
  • Designed for low particulate generation in controlled-environment cleaning
  • Compatible with the TKM27 TekniMop™ carbon fiber flat mop frame
  • Compatible with the TM-QP258-SS stainless steel 2.5" x 8" mop system
TM-QP258 Benefits:
  • High liquid retention: Two layers of polyester provide greater liquid-holding capacity than single-ply alternatives for solution application and liquid pickup.
  • Controlled solution delivery: Liquid-retention and release characteristics help provide consistent wetting across the cleaning surface.
  • Facility-controlled chemistry: The dry format allows users to select the cleaning or disinfecting solution and saturation level required by their established procedure.
  • Compact cleaning access: The 2.5" x 8" format supports cleaning of isolators, equipment, work surfaces, pass-throughs, and other areas where larger mop systems may be difficult to maneuver.
  • Broad chemical compatibility: Polyester construction is compatible with IPA, sporicidal agents, and common cleanroom cleaning and disinfecting solutions as specified by Teknipure.
  • Spill-management capability: Increased absorbency makes the 2-ply construction useful for liquid pickup and spill-control procedures.
  • Multiple hardware options: The cover can be incorporated into TekniMop™ carbon fiber or compatible stainless steel small-surface cleaning configurations.
Common Applications:
  • Cleaning isolators and RABS
  • Cleaning biosafety cabinets
  • Cleaning gloveboxes and pass-through chambers
  • Cleaning equipment surfaces, work surfaces, and benches
  • Reaching confined and difficult-to-access areas
  • Precleaning before disinfectant application
  • Residue removal
  • Application of disinfectants and sanitizers
  • Controlled surface wetting
  • Spill control and liquid pickup
Best-Practice Use:
  • Select compatible hardware: Use TM-QP258 with a manufacturer-listed compatible frame or mop system, such as the TKM27 carbon fiber frame or TM-QP258-SS stainless steel system.
  • Select the appropriate chemistry: Because TM-QP258 is supplied dry, prepare and apply the cleaning or disinfecting solution according to the chemistry manufacturer's instructions and facility SOP.
  • Control saturation: Wet the cover according to the procedure without unnecessary oversaturation that could cause uncontrolled dripping or excessive solution deposition.
  • Use controlled strokes: Follow the directional wiping or mopping technique established by the facility and avoid transferring contamination back into previously cleaned areas.
  • Maintain surface contact: Keep the mop cover evenly engaged with the target surface and allow the polyester material and cleaning solution to perform the cleaning rather than relying on excessive pressure.
  • Observe disinfectant contact time: When applying a disinfectant or sanitizer, maintain the surface conditions required by the chemistry manufacturer's instructions and facility SOP.
  • Change covers as required: Replace the mop cover according to cleaning area, soil load, solution condition, room transition, or other changeout requirements established by the facility.
  • Follow non-sterile material controls: TM-QP258 is supplied non-sterile and should be introduced and used according to the facility's material-transfer and contamination-control procedures.
Selection Notes (TM-QP258 vs. Other TekniMop™ Options)
  • TM-QP258: Choose this version when a dry, non-sterile 2-ply polyester cover is appropriate and the facility wants direct control over cleaning chemistry and saturation.
  • TM-QP258S: Select the sterile dry version when the cleaning procedure requires a sterile 2-ply polyester cover.
  • TM-QP70G-258: Select the non-sterile presaturated version when a ready-to-use 70% IPA format is preferred over manually saturating a dry cover.
  • TM-QP70G-258S: Select the sterile 70% IPA presaturated version when both sterile presentation and standardized IPA saturation are required.
  • 2.5" x 8" vs. 4" x 7": TM-QP258 provides a longer, narrower cleaning footprint than the TM-QP47 4" x 7" cover. Select the cover and compatible frame according to surface geometry, access, and required cleaning coverage.
  • 2-ply polyester vs. microfiber or microdenier: 2-ply polyester emphasizes liquid retention, controlled solution delivery, durability, and absorbency. Other TekniMop™ materials may be selected when the cleaning objective places greater emphasis on different particulate, residue-removal, or surface-contact characteristics.
